I am back!!

So today we went to Underwood Family Farms in Moorpark. It was a really fun day. They weather was perfect, only in the low 70's. The girls got to ride on the ponies and feed the animals. The reason for this post is to make a memory for myself. Makenna is staring to grow up before my eyes. She still has her moments of crying without me really knowing why but she is starting to mature. So, after Daddy gave the girls a bath tonight Makenna thanked him on her very own for buying carrots so that she could feed the animals. It totally melted my heart and I began to cry. It doesn't take much to make me cry these days but I then had to explain that my tears were tears of joy. It makes me so happy to witness my child learning how to be grateful for the wonderful life she was given. I can't include pictures because we have a new computer and I don't know how to work it yet. This will be my new mission.

funny diva in the making

Those of you that know Makenna know that she is a little diva. She is not really snotty or rude but has certain things that can be labeled "Diva". She loves to dress herself because she likes the outfits that she puts together. She also loves to have her picture taken. I think this came about after she received her first paycheck. We might have created a monster. Well, I got the best of both worlds on this day. She first picked out this AMAZING outfit and then wanted to have her picture taken. All poses were created by Makenna and this adds to the funniness.

funny things daddy's do

Pete so desperatly craves attention from Brennan. She is at the age where all she wants is mommy plus she is already playing hard to get with him. Both of the girls love that Daddy usually has a toothpick in his mouth. This evening he used it towards his advantage. She let him rock her as long as she got to hold the toothpick in her mouth. He will take whatever he can get. It is still a precious moment in my book.

funny bath time

I was giving the girls a bath today after some playtime in the yard. Makenna was trying to teach Brennan the colors of some of the toys in the bath. Here is where the funny part comes in. Makenna says to Brennan, " can you say apple?" Brennan said apple and then Makenna went on to say " say Poisen". It really doesn't come across as funny as it was in the moment. These girls have been watching too many princess movies!

Two little clowns

We were keeping ourselves busy this morning with toys and coloring. I was out in the garage doing laundry and returned to find Brennan with some new clown make up on. She was using a marker that has two ends. The lid was off on the end that she wasn't using. As she was laying on the floor coloring her coloring book she was also coloring her face. I don't think she realized she was doing this because I watched how it took place. I had to take pictures of her new look and then someone started to get jealous. When I returned I found the other little one had her own new look. I got all off except for the pink noses. This was the only marker that wasn't crayola. Wish me luck.

Another funny thing

We had some company today. My friend Stephanie and her son Anthony are here from Virginia. We had a nice visit at home and then went to lunch at Jersey Mike's. After lunch we returned to my house. We did the normal mom things, unpacked the kids from the car, brought in all the loot and then changed diapers. Stephanie was changing Anthony's diaper when Makenna asked, "what is that" referring to his private parts. Stephanie and I started to explain to her that boys and girls have different private parts. Makenna chimed in with "my Daddy's is bigger than Anthony's". As you can imagine we were rolling on the floor with laughter. We are all so glad that there is a difference between Daddy and Anthony! Here are a couple pictures from our visit.

Makenna giving me a lesson on telling the truth

I have several friends that have done some amazing things to their cars. One of them backed out of the garage with the door open and practically ripped the door off(we own the car in question). Another friend backed out of her garage with the back tail gate open and shattered the rear window. I always thought to myself, how do these things happen. Well, it happened to me today. I was going out for a little Starbucks. I must have been too eager to get out the door that I didn't even wait for the door to be completely open. It was three fourths of the way open when I decided to step on it. I heard a big crashing noise or so it seemed at the time. I got out to find my garage door not looking so hot and a mild(Pete hasn't seen it yet) scratch on the top of my brand new car. Oh, I was so upset. I got back into the car after assessing the damage and was talking to myself when the 4 year old pipes up, "it's okay Mommy, it was a accident, just tell him the truth". I am so glad she has been listening to what we tell her on a regular basis. My friend Patrick gave me a wonderful name of a company that came out and fixed it for me. I might still be alive tonight when Pete gets home. Wish me luck! BTW, I love you girls that I am talking about!!
