Two little clowns

We were keeping ourselves busy this morning with toys and coloring. I was out in the garage doing laundry and returned to find Brennan with some new clown make up on. She was using a marker that has two ends. The lid was off on the end that she wasn't using. As she was laying on the floor coloring her coloring book she was also coloring her face. I don't think she realized she was doing this because I watched how it took place. I had to take pictures of her new look and then someone started to get jealous. When I returned I found the other little one had her own new look. I got all off except for the pink noses. This was the only marker that wasn't crayola. Wish me luck.

Another funny thing

We had some company today. My friend Stephanie and her son Anthony are here from Virginia. We had a nice visit at home and then went to lunch at Jersey Mike's. After lunch we returned to my house. We did the normal mom things, unpacked the kids from the car, brought in all the loot and then changed diapers. Stephanie was changing Anthony's diaper when Makenna asked, "what is that" referring to his private parts. Stephanie and I started to explain to her that boys and girls have different private parts. Makenna chimed in with "my Daddy's is bigger than Anthony's". As you can imagine we were rolling on the floor with laughter. We are all so glad that there is a difference between Daddy and Anthony! Here are a couple pictures from our visit.

Makenna giving me a lesson on telling the truth

I have several friends that have done some amazing things to their cars. One of them backed out of the garage with the door open and practically ripped the door off(we own the car in question). Another friend backed out of her garage with the back tail gate open and shattered the rear window. I always thought to myself, how do these things happen. Well, it happened to me today. I was going out for a little Starbucks. I must have been too eager to get out the door that I didn't even wait for the door to be completely open. It was three fourths of the way open when I decided to step on it. I heard a big crashing noise or so it seemed at the time. I got out to find my garage door not looking so hot and a mild(Pete hasn't seen it yet) scratch on the top of my brand new car. Oh, I was so upset. I got back into the car after assessing the damage and was talking to myself when the 4 year old pipes up, "it's okay Mommy, it was a accident, just tell him the truth". I am so glad she has been listening to what we tell her on a regular basis. My friend Patrick gave me a wonderful name of a company that came out and fixed it for me. I might still be alive tonight when Pete gets home. Wish me luck! BTW, I love you girls that I am talking about!!

Nice day after all the rain

I love when the weather is nice enough to feed the girls outside for lunch. I wish I could feed every meal outside. My carpet would be so clean. The girls enjoyed their first chocolate covered banana. A treat that will NEVER be enjoyed indoors.

Trip to the good ol' doctor

We had the annual well baby check up this month. This year it was for Makenna who turned 4 and Brennan who turned 2. I was not certain that Makenna had to get shots but I knew Brennan did. I found out later that Makenna actually had to get more shots than Brennan and so I was a tad scared. I went back and forth in my mind who I would torture first. I decided to go with Brennan because she is very brave. Makenna was told that she would be needing shots and had already started to whine about it. I sat Brennan on my lap and she got her shot in her little leg. She didn't whine or cry. She took it like a man. Poor Makenna must have been watching the whole thing with such anticipation. When it was her turn she burst out in tears and gave me the biggest struggle to pull down her pants( that is where they give the shots for those of you that haven't had children in a long time). She kicked and screamed and all I could think of is, this is payback for what I did to my Mom when I was 13. I kicked and screamed because they needed to give me a shot. Anyways, we got through the shots and then we were off to the lab. Brennan needed to get some testing done and she was once again so brave. She sat there and let them poke her with the needle and without any crying or whining. Makenna commented on how Brennan was so brave when she gave blood and now she wants to be just like her baby sister. Here are a couple of pictures. I thought it was cute that they make blood pressure cuffs so small.

Like Father like Daughter

Makenna received a Tag book reader for Christmas from her Uncle Robert and Auntie Letty. She absolutely loves it. You can often find her sitting in a random spot of the house listening to the stories or just walking around with the book pen and listening that way. I have been trying to find her some new books that she might be interested in. I picked up the Kung Fu Panda book and she has really enjoyed it. This is the latest place I found her reading. What can I say, like Father like Daughter!
